IndiGo to operate 97 repatriation flights between India and the Middle East

India's commercial passenger airline IndiGo has been authorized to operate 97 flights between India and the Middle East to repatriate stranded Indians

India's commercial passenger airline IndiGo has been authorized to operate 97 flights between India and Middle East to repatriate stranded Indians in region. IndiGo has informed that se 97 flights will be operated between Kerala and Saudi Arabia, Doha, Kuwait and Muscat. official statement released by IndiGo also mentioned that airline has been granted nearly half of total 180 repatriation flights allotted to private airlines. 

97 repatriation flights to Middle-East will comprise of 36 flights to Saudi Arabia, 28 to Doha, 23 to Kuwait and 10 to Muscat.

Apart from this, Indian government has also been operating Air India flights under Vande Bharat Mission to ferry back Indians stranded abro. Vande Bharat Mission is currently in second phase. Union Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri h earlier informed that Vande Bharat Mission has facilitated return of 13,000 Indians so far under first phase.

'Opportunity for IndiGo'

Meanwhile, IndiGo CEO Rojoy Dutta has stated that airlines h expressed erness to support Indian government's repatriation efforts from Middle-East. In official statement released on Thursday, Dutta ded that IndiGo is grateful for approval to operate flights to four countries to evacuate Indians who are stranded.

"se special flights offer an opportunity to lever our network strength in Middle-East to support nation at this crucial time. IndiGo will continue to contribute and apt its business to needs of hour," Dutta said.
