Amid LAC faceoff, India and China on Tuesday released a joint statement on outcome of 6th military commander-level meeting held on September 21. As per statement, senior commanders from both sides had a candid discussion on stabilising situation along Line of Actual Control. y agreed to earnestly implement consensus reached by PM Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping and avoid misunderstandings.
Moreover, y stressed on strengning communication on ground and refraining from unilaterally changing status quo. A consensus was formed on holding 7th round of senior military commanders at earliest. statement mentioned that it was necessary to take practical measures for maintaining peace in border areas. re are friction points in Eastern Ladakh, Gogra, Kongka La and Pangong Lake's rth and south banks.

"On September 21, Indian and Chinese Senior Commanders held 6th round of Military Commander-Level Meeting. two sides had candid and in-depth exchanges of views on stabilizing situation along LAC in India - China border areas. y agreed to earnestly implement important consensus reached by leaders of two countries, strengn communication on ground, avoid misunderstandings and misjudgments, stop sending more troops to frontline, refrain from unilaterally changing situation on ground, and avoid taking any actions that may complicate situation. two sides also agreed to hold 7th round of Military Commander-Level Meeting as soon as possible, take practical measures to properly solve problems on ground, and jointly safeguard peace and tranquility in border area."

LAC faceoff
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh made a statement on LAC situation in both Houses of Parliament. He affirmed that Armed Forces were capable of facing any challenge from China. While ackwledging that situation at LAC is very different both in terms of scale of troops involve and number of friction points, he reiterated India's commitment for a peaceful resolution of dispute. Observing that violent conduct of Chinese troops was a violation of all past agreements, he informed MPs that India has done counter deployments in area to safeguard border.
