Indian Navy ships INS Sahyri and INS Kiltan entered Yokosuka Port in Japan on Monday, October 14.  ships were welcomed by Rm T Mo, Chief of Staff, Yokosuka district. ships were scheduled to participate in Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF) Fleet Review which has since been cancelled due to Super Typhoon Hagibis, Spokesperson of Indian Navy said on Twitter. 

Indian Navy rey to provide help

As requested by Prime Minister Modi on Sunday, India Navy deployed INS Sahyri and INS Kiltan in area, rey to render assistance as Japan fights devastation and dam caused by Typhoon Hagibis.

PM Modi extends support to Japan

As death toll due to Typhoon Hagibis reached 18, PM Modi on Sunday took to Twitter to express his condolences to Japan. He tweeted in Japanese hoping for an early recovery from mass havoc caused by storms. He also expressed confidence in President Shinzo Abe's preparation in countering disaster. He also extended Indian Navy's assistance to provide necessary support to Japan.

Typhoon Hagibis hits Japan

Meanwhile, Japan is still coping from most powerful typhoon 'Hagibis' hitting island country on Saturday. Japan’s public brocaster NHK revealed on Sunday that at least seven people h been killed, while more than 15 are reported to be missing. Tokyo has been reportedly paralysed with significant flooding and nearly 4,25,000 homes are without electricity. deceased individuals lived in Chiba, Gunma, Kanagawa and Fukushima areas surrounding Tokyo, as per reports.
