Red Brige India founder Ajay Kumar Patel will soon be opening a restaurant called ‘ Orange Cafe' at Durga Kund area, Varanasi. Patel started Red Brige India in 2011 to train women in self-defence.

While interacting with a news ncy, Patel said, “We are starting Orange Cafe from a rented place but we soon plan to get ownership of place. Our aim is to make sure that acid attack survivors own café and run it mselves.”
Ajay Kumar Patel has been traveling throughout Uttar Presh to connect and communicate with acid attack survivors from various regions and districts. During his travels, Ajay short-listed four survivors who agreed to move to Varanasi and take over responsibilities of running cafe.

Survivors delighted over being self-dependent in future
brave survivors who will be running cafe are Rekha from Jaunpur, Somvati from Bareilly, Vimla from Rae Bareli and Bam Devi from Varanasi.

“We are w training se women to cook food, serve customers and undertake billing. We do t want m to depend on ors for se tasks. For first four months, we will pay m a token amount but y will later share profit among mselves,” Red Brige India founder ded.

A survivor named Somvati from Bareilly expressed her happiness for or survivors as y will be finally able to stand on her own feet and will t be dependent on ir families for survival. She also stated that her dream of providing a good education for her son will finally be fulfilled with cafe.
