ISRO Chairman K Sivan gave an interview to Doordarshan on September 9 and spoke at length about Chandrayaan 2 mission. He discussed at length about ISRO's techlogy and special characteristics of mission, and analyzed loss in communication with lander. On being questioned about data which orbiter would give and how will world look at this data, ISRO chief said:
"Our orbiter is going around moon in polar orbit and you see this dual-band SR data and we can do a lot of research near polar region so that way it is first time such data is available to scientists globally. Also, imaging, infrastructure IR spectra metata is also available for global scientists. Also, high-resolution imaging, you seen high-resolution camera, will be available to whole community."

ISRO chief explained how data obtained from Chandrayaan-2 will t only be helpful to ISRO's research on moon, but will be invaluable to scientists all over world for ir future expeditions and understanding of moon. Moreover, since Chandrayaan-2 will be focusing on polar region, scientists will benefit immensely as that has been an unexplored part of moon.

Along with this, K Sivan also spoke about how several techlogical inventions, including a state of art camera to provide high-resolution ims and a 5-micron wavelength system, distinguished Chandrayaan-2 from its predecessors. K Sivan said that even though communication hn't been received from lander, mission was a 90-95 success with orbiter benefitting immensely to global scientific community.
