ISRO on Thursday anunced that Chandrayaan 2 has begun spectroscopic studies of lunar surface. It has put out first illuminated im of lunar surface by Chandrayaan's paylo. Detailing procedure by which paylo acquired im, ISRO said that Imaging Infrared Spectrometer (IIRS) is set on Chandrayaan-2. It is meant to measure reflected sunlight and emitted part of Moonlight from lunar surface. major objective of IIRS, as per ISRO, is to understand origin and evolution of Moon in a geologic context. ISRO also released an infographic detailing observation carried out by Chandrayaan 2 on lunar surface. ISRO said that preliminary analysis has suggested that IIRS could successfully measure variations in reflected solar riation that bounces off lunar surface from different kinds of surface s.

Chandrayaan 2 Observes Solar Flares

orbiter of Chandrayaan 2, that has been rotating around Moon, observed a series of small flares from Sun on September 30, said ISRO. This observation was me with Solar X-ray monitor on Chandrayaan 2.  Detailing process, ISRO said that orbiter of Chandrayaan 2 uses two instruments to measure such phemena. As per ISRO, it was initially installed in ship to measure lunar elemental composition using  X-rays emitted by Sun, however, it detected solar flares of sun.

NASA released Chandrayaan-2's picture

NASA on September 27 released pictures of landing site of Chandrayaan 2. Releasing first set of pictures, NASA said that team was unable to locate Vikram lander and will try again in October. LRO will next fly over landing site on October 14 when lighting conditions will be more favourable, John Keller, Deputy Project Scientist Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter Mission, Goddard Flight Centre, told PTI via email. NASA statement also said that Vikram lander might be hiding in shows.
