Indian Research Organisation (ISRO) has set up five Techlogy Cells (STCs) at premier institutions to carry out research activities in areas of techlogy and applications. STCs have been set up at Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru, Indian Institute of Techlogies (IITs) – Bombay, Kanpur, Kharagpur, and Mras and Joint Research Programme with Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU, Pune).
In a written reply to Rajya Sabha on Thursday, Union Minister of State Jitendra Singh said, "ISRO desires development of high-end techlogy in collaboration with IITs in areas of Science, Techlogy and Applications. identified projects will be funded by ISRO."

IIT Roorkee teams up with ISRO
Earlier, it was reported that IIT Roorkee was working with Indian Research Organisation (ISRO) and Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) to design and develop cutting edge techlogy for and defence projects. Researchers at premier institute are working on "thin membrane-based techlogy to develop parachutes for fighter aircraft and could be crucial in boosting indigeus production in country, officials said. information was shared during a seminar on Inflatable Structures and Materials for Applications held on Thursday at IIT Roorkee's Greater ida campus.

Vikram lander located
ISRO Chief K Sivan on Thursday said that ISRO orbiter h located Vikram Lander a while back, results of which are available on ISRO website. Sivan was speaking at a convocation ceremony, a few hours after NASA released pictures of landing site and credited a Chennai based engineer for finding lander.
