'Issue should be resolved soon': BKU agrees with SC approach, firm on repeal of farm law
The Bharatiya Kisan Union agreed with the Supreme Court's observation that the ongoing standoff between the farmers and the Centre should be resolved soon.

On Thursday, Bharatiya Kisan Union agreed with Supreme Court's observation that ongoing standoff between farmers and Centre should be resolved soon. BKU leer Rakesh Tikait was responding to proceedings in SC where a three-judge bench of Chief Justice SA Bobde, Justice AS Bopanna and Justice V Ramasubramanian was hearing pleas seeking removal of protestors from Delhi borders. Besides BKU, BKU- Sidhupur, BKU- Rajewal, BKU- Lakhowal, Jamhoori Kisan Sabha, BKU- Dakaunda, BKU- Doaba and Kul Hind Kisan Federation have been impleed as respondents in this matter.
Refuting contention that farmers' unions h blocked ros, Tikait argued that police h put up barrices. He also expressed BKU's willingness to talk with Centre if invited by latter. However, he me it clear that re would be compromise with demand to repeal three farm laws. Speaking to ANI, a farmer protesting at Haryana-Delhi border said, "We're rey for more rounds of talks. Government is taking SC's help w so ir ego is t hurt. Table talks should be shown live".

Petition in SC
original petitioner Rishabh Sharma h argued that blocking of ros and border points has affected persons travelling to Delhi for medical treatment. According to Sharma, it was necessary to avoid such a mass garing owing to possibility of COVID-19 spre among protesters. In his prayer, petitioner demanded a direction to open all borders of national capital. Moreover, he called for shifting of protesters to Nirankari Samagam Ground in Burari.
Earlier in day, SC reiterated its inclination to form a committee to hold talks between protesting farmers and Centre. During hearing, top court heard arguments put forth by many counsels including senior vocate Harish Salve, senior vocate P Chidambaram, Solicitor General Tushar Mehta and Attorney General KK Venugopal. However, it refrained from passing a substantive order as one of 8 farmers' unions ded as respondents were represented in SC. But it directed that tice should be served on se farmers' associations by Friday and liberty was granted to move vacation bench.
