Kolkata: key findings of status report submitted by   Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to Supreme Court on Thursday on probe into Kolkata rape-murder case has indicated that trainee doctor was not gang-raped. Furr, probe, which CBI took over on August 13, found involvement of one person, Sanjoy Roy, in horrific incident which took place at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital. 

Meanwhile, forensic report has also suggested that doctor was raped and killed by Roy, a civic volunteer who was attached to Kolkata Police. Refuting allegations of gang-rape, DNA report has also confirmed involvement of one person.

Roy was arrested on August 10, a day after semi-naked body of doctor was found in seminar hall of RG Kar hospital. 

ditionally, CBI has also scanned CCTV footage that showed Roy entering building where doctor was found murdered. Roy, who has a history of domestic abuse and h access to all departments of hospital, was arrested after his Bluetooth heset was recovered at crime scene. However, CBI is yet to conclude its probe in possible involvement of more people in case. agency is likely to send forensic report to independent experts to get ir final opinion.

report also revealed that crime scene in Kolkata rape-murder case h been tampered with, and victim's family was intentionally misled with a false narrative of suicide.  

If reports are to be believed, CBI has revealed several critical gaps in ongoing investigation. first major issue was considerable delay between discovery of victim's body in seminar hall of hospital on morning of August 9 and notification to local police. Reports indicated that CBI officials are particularly focused on understanding why hospital authorities, especially former and controversial principal of RG Kar Medical College, Dr Sandip Ghosh, took so long to inform police after body was found.

Anor gap in investigation is identifying person who first found victim's body in seminar hall. Despite extensive questioning of both medical and non-medical staff at RG Kar Medical College & Hospital, CBI is yet to determine who initially found body. 

central probe agency continued to grill former RG Kar hospital principal Sandip Ghosh for sixth consecutive day. agency sleuths also summoned various or top authorities of hospital, including its current superintendent and vice-principal Bulbul Mukhophyay and her predecessor Sanjay Vasishth, for questioning.

SC Debunks Claims of Semen in Post-Mortem Report

During hearing, CJI DY Chandrachud debunked reports of finding semen inside body of victim doctor. After one of counsel mentioned reports related to post-mortem over some gms of semen, CJI asked m to not to refer to social media to make submissions in court. He said, "Don't re what is re on social media."

top court h asked CBI to file a status report on status of investigation in rape case. Besides, court asked West Bengal government to file a status report on mob attack incident that took place at RG Kar hospital on August 15.
