Italian Cyclist Detained Near India-Pakistan Border In Kathua

The Jammu and Kashmir Police have taken an Italian national into custody for roaming near the Indo-Pakistan border in the Hiranagar sector of Kathua.

Kathua: Jammu and Kashmir Police have taken an Italian national into custody for roaming near Indo-Pakistan border in Hiranagar sector of Kathua. Marco Sciacca, a 40-year-old cyclist, was detained while exploring village Bhagwana Chak, close to border.

According to police sources, Sciacca, an avid cyclist, has travelled to 16 countries, including China and Pakistan, during his ventures. Meanwhile, his sudden appearance in a sensitive border area raised suspicions, which furr led to his detention by security personnel.

Jammu and Kashmir Police have initiated a probe into matter, citing security concerns and need to ascertain Sciacca's motive behind his visit to border area.
