J&K Goverr Satya Pal Malik called on President Ram Nath Kovind at Rashtrapati Bhavan on Tuesday. Earlier on Friday, Malik h stated that Jammu and Kashmir ministration will be completely committed in taking all measures to ensure best development of Kargil district, as well as setting up of Union Territory- Lakh. An official release said, “Goverr's ministration is fully committed to take all measures to ensure best development of Kargil district in line with aspirations of people in UT Lakh set up with all safeguards including 100 per cent employment security by taking necessary legal measures besides making all-out efforts for ensuring land safeguards like in or states of country.”

Maharashtra likely to invest in J&K
J&K Goverr's visit comes on a day that Maharashtra Cabinet approved a proposal to launch two resorts in newly-designated Union Territory. MTDC (Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation) will start land survey in J&K in next 15 days, following which Maharashtra govt will buy land for resort. Furrmore, Rs 2 crore provision has been set aside for resort. If project materialises, Maharashtra could become first state to buy land in J&K - something that wasn't possible before Article 370 and Article 35A were abrogated.
Speaking to news ncy ANI, Maharashtra Toursim Minister Jaykumar Rawal said that govt is planning to open a resort near Srinagar and a mountaineering institute near Lakh.

rmalizing Kashmir Valley
In a briefing held on Monday, J&K Principal Secretary Rohit Kansal stated that over 90% of Kashmir valley was free of day time restrictions. According to him, restrictions were eased at 92 police station areas out of 111 police stations in State. He furr stated that over 26,000 landline connections have also been restored. Apart from this, performance of government offices and schools is also almost rmalized. schools are slowly seeing a good attendance, he said. Along with this, he ted that public transport in Kashmir Valley is coming back to ros and interstate connectivity is w available.
