Omar Abdullah-led National Conference has moved Supreme Court challenging President's order on Article 370 revoking special status of Jammu and Kashmir. party sought a direction from apex court to declare Presidential Order relating to Article 370 as "unconstitutional, void and iperative" in Jammu and Kashmir.and to declare Jammu and Kashmir Reorganisation Act, 2019 as "unconstitutional". A petition has been filed in top court on Article 370 by party leaders Mohd Akbar Lone and Hasnain Masoodi.
President of India Ram Nath Kovind had provided his assent to Jammu and Kashmir Reorganisation Bill on Friday. He had given assent to Abrogation of Article 370 on Thursday. This has resulted in complete integration of region with rest of India and with it having laws and rights on par with or Indian citizens as per Constitution.

SC refuses plea for urgent hearing
Supreme Court on Thursday refused to accord urgent hearing to a plea challenging Presidential Order on Article 370 which revoked Jammu and Kashmir's special status. matter was mentioned for urgent listing before a bench headed by Justice N V Ramana. Advocate M L Sharma, who has filed petition, urged court that his plea be listed for hearing eir on August 12 or 13. bench, however, told Sharma that his plea would be heard in due course.
PM Modi's speech on integration of Kashmir
PM Narendra Modi spoke at length about Centre's move to revoke 370 and to restructure region. He said that status of Jammu and Kashmri as Union Territory is temporary, but Ladakh's status was a permanent one. "We will free Jammu and Kashmir from terrorism. When this heaven on earth, Jammu and Kashmir, will surpass everyone in development, ease of living for citizens will be increased, n I don't think Jammu and Kashmir will need to remain under Centre's purview, but yes Ladakh will remain a Union Territory."
