J&K Police counters anti-India lobby, exposes fake news over Kashmir
The Jammu and Kashmir police on Tuesday exposed the fake news propaganda being spread by certain people over the prevailing situation in the Valley.

Even after several efforts me by J&K Police to inform citizens about rmalcy in Kashmir Valley and nearby areas, fake news 'lobby' has continued its efforts to spre propaganda against government in aftermath of abrogation of Article 370 in Jammy and Kashmir.
In a recent incident, J&K police countered fake news on Twitter. CPI(ML) leer Kavita Krishnan took to Twitter and shared a news story on Kashmir, along with pictures, claiming pictures to be from Heff Shirmal in Shopian district, ed by AP (Associated Press) journalist. However, busting fake news propaganda, Shopian senior superintendent of police Sandeep Chaudhary replied to her tweet confirming that banner picture of AP story does t pertain to Shopian district. He also ded that some of pictures are neir from Shopian r from 2019.

J&K police detains fake news peddlers
Earlier in August, J&K police released a statement stating that it detained five persons for spreing fake news about situation in Valley. J&K police said that detainees h me sensitive remarks disturbing law and order in region. police h booked five people under relevant sections of law and have started legal proceedings against m. All booked people belonged to Rajouri and Poonch districts but appeared to be working outside Jammu and Kashmir. In light of developments, J&K police h been warning citizens about mischievous people attempting to instigate public by spreing rumours and fake posts to disturb peace in Valley.
