A day after Congress Raebareli MLA backed government on its decision to revoke Article 370, she has clarified that it is her personal opinion without backtracking from her stand. Congress MLA iti Singh said that this move will integrate state of Jammu and Kashmir with India, and that it is above party lines. 

"I have cleared my personal opinion that i support this provision. This will integrate J&K in India. This provision is above party line. On ground issues should be solved and people should t suffer any problem. Thus re should be politics. This is my personal opinion. As an MLA I welcome this decision," she said.

Singh h taken to Facebook to express that she is in favour of decision taken by Centre to scrap Article 370 that was passed by Rajya Sabha on Monday. This will end special status of state and it will be guided by Constitution of India and t constitution of Jammu and Kashmir. Raebareli MLA Singh h also hit back at a user after he commented, "You are Congressi," on her post. She retaliated against user by saying that she is an Indian. "Main ek Hindustani hoon (I am an Indian)."

government h revoked Article 370 which gave special status to Jammu and Kashmir and proposed that state be bifurcated into two Union Territories, Jammu and Kashmir and Lakh. Jammu & Kashmir (Reorganisation) Bill, 2019, which strips Jammu and Kashmir's status of a state and converts it into a Union Territory with legislature and carving out Lakh region as a UT without legislature, was passed in a division pressed by opposition with 125 votes in favor and 61 against, and an NCP member abstained.

What is Article 370?

It exempts Jammu and Kashmir from following Indian Constitution except for Article 1 and itself. It also restricts Parliament's legislative powers in Jammu and Kashmir. It was passed in Constituent Assembly on May 27, 1949 and is first article of Part XXI of Indian Constitution. heing of this part is ‘Temporary, Transitional and Special Provisions’.
