Jagan Mohan Reddy invites PM Modi for 'Raithu Bharosa' scheme launch

Andhra Pradesh CM Jagan Mohan Reddy met PM Modi here on Saturday and invited him for the inauguration of prestigious 'YSR Raithu Bharosa' scheme in the state.

Chief Minister of Andhra Presh, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, on Saturday, extended an invitation to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for inauguration of prestigious 'YSR Raithu Bharosa' scheme in state. CM also discussed several or issues with PM Modi for at least one and a half hours. inauguration of scheme for which CM Reddy has invited PM Modi was one of Reddy’s major promises during his election campaign. It is scheduled to be launched on October 15 at Nellore. This scheme will benefit around 53 lakh farmers, which includes tenant farmers as well.  

CM Reddy’s requests to Centre 

According to an official statement released on Saturday, Andhra Presh CM Jagan Mohan Reddy also requested  Central government for an ditional grant-in-aid. statement said, "Reddy has requested Centre to release funds in time and to cooperate for development of state. In view of this, Chief Minister has requested for Rs 40,000 crores as grant-in-aid to state.  central government's response looks positive on this issue and Chief Minister h asked to give revenue deficit amount and ditional funds required for state immediately”.

Polvaram project reimbursement 

CM Jagan Mohan Reddy also asked central government to reimburse  money spent by state government for Polavaram Project. state invested Rs 5,103 crores in project, which Central government needs to reimburse. Apart from this, CM Reddy also asked Centre to release at least Rs 16,000 crores with immediate effect in order to complete  Polvaram project works as soon as possible. CM Jagan Mohan Reddy also requested to approve revised budget estimation of Rs 55,548 crores for Polvaram project. Earlier, senior officers from Andhra Presh h also met officials from Prime Minister's Office on August 23, 2019.

'YSR Vahana Mitra scheme' launched

CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, on Friday, launched 'YSR Vahana Mitra scheme' at Eluru. This scheme provides assistance to auto-drivers in Andhra Presh. 'YSR Vahana Mitra scheme' is named after Jagan Mohan Reddy's late far and former Andhra Presh CM YS Rajasekhara Reddy. scheme provides about Rs 10,000 allowance to self-employed drivers of autos, taxis & maxi-taxis. This amount is reportedly given for recurring expenses of insurance, repair, and maintenance of vehicles.
