'Politics In Name Of God': Jagan Breaks Silence on Tirupati Laddoo Row, Rejects All Charges

Amravati: Rebutting the claims made by Andhra Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu over the ongoing controversy on the preparation of Tirupati Balaji prasadam laddoos, former CM and YSRCP chief Jagan Reddy on Friday said that no violation took place under his government and the ruling party is politicizing religious matters. 

"The tender process occurs every six months, and the qualification criteria has not changed for decades. Suppliers must provide an NABL certificate and a product quality certificate. TTD collects samples from the ghee, and only products that pass certification are used. TDP is politicizing religious matters. We have rejected the products in our regime 18 times," Jagan Reddy said. 

“Is it fair to play with sentiments of crores of devotees across world,” Jagan asked CM Naidu on laddu controversy while adding that allegations over his government on ghee adulteration are “atrocious”.

He further said that Andhra Chief Minister Naidu is using god for poltical purposes. 

“Only Chandrababu Naidu has mentality to use god for politics, Andhra CM Naidu is such a person who can use god also for political gains. Ghee adulteration allegations to divert attention from Chandrababu Naidu 's 100 days rule in AP,” Jagan Reddy said. 

Tirpuati Laddoo Preparation Controversy

Earlier, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu accused the YSR Congress , led by Jagan Mohan Reddy, of using animal fat instead of ghee in the consecrated sweets, known as 'Tirupati Prasadam,' at the Sri Venkateswara temple in Tirupati.

The temple is devoted to Lord Venkateswara, a manifestation of Lord Vishnu who is believed to have come to earth to deliver humanity from the trials and tribulations of the Kali Yuga. As a result, the location has been given the name Kaliyuga Vaikuntha, and the god is known as Kaliyuga Prathyaksha Daivam.
