Amravati: Hitting back at Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) over its allegation that their party’s chief Jagan Reddy security detail was being curtailed by the Andhra Pradesh government, the ruling Telugu Desam Party (TDP) said that the move to reduce the security of former CM was taken in the interest of the public.

Jagan Reddy Was Carrying More Security Than US President

Sources told Republic that former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jagan Reddy was carrying more security detail than what is given to the United States President.

“Jagan had a security detail of almost 1000 guards. This is more than the security of even the president of the USA. In the interest of rationalizing security and prioritizing regular police work to benefit the common citizens, it has been reduced,” sources said.

10 Toyota Prado Cars In Jagan Reddy’s Previous Convoy

Official sources further added that Jagan Reddy’s previous convoy comprised 10 Toyota Prado cars which costs more than Rs 2 crore each.

“10 such cars were used. Such cars have now been kept for visiting foreign dignitaries,” they added.

Now, Jagan Reddy’s convoy will comprise Tata Safari cars. These cars were given to  Andhra Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu during his time as Leader of Opposition.

“In fact, when Chandrababu Naidu comes to Delhi he still uses a convoy of Tata Safari cars,” they added.

YSRCP has alleged that the Andhra Government had deliberately allotted old cars to Jagan Reddy’s convoy which could compromise his security. During his recent visit to Vinukonda, the party alleged that his bulletproof car broke down which raised concerns among the party workers.
