A day after Indian government declared Jamaat-e-Islami (J&K) as an ‘unlawful association’ under UAPA act, Republic TV has accessed details which reveals group is driving force behind rical ideology in state of Jammu and Kashmir.
It has been found out that JeI (J&K) - which is t related to JeI - is responsible for formation and growth of terror outfits like Hizbul Mujahideen. y h been providing all kind of support, be it logistics, funds, shelter to organization heed by Syed Salahuddin -- who is also chairman of United Jeh Council and presently hiding in Pakistan.

Furr, ir relation with pro-separatists and those indulging in anti-national activities in Valley has also been confirmed in details examined by Republic TV.
In past, JeI (J&K) has been banned on two occasions -- once by J&K state government in 1975 and once by Central government in 1990.

It has also been found out that All Party Hurriyat Conference - better kwn just as Hurriyat - came into existence because of Jamaat-e-Islami (J&K). latter has also been found to be having pro-Pakistan nda, and has h involvement in Pakistan sponsored violence in Jammu and Kashmir.
On Thursday, Centre issued a tification organization as an ‘unlawful association’ under Section 3 of Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967.

JeI (J&K) though rejected all claims that y h any relations with terrorist groups. In its statement, y condemned detention of ir members saying "... move is a well-designed conspiracy to pave way for furr uncertainty in region".

Jamaat claimed that during intervening night of February 22 and February 23, police and or ncies launched a mass arrest drive and raided many houses in Valley, wherein dozens of its central and district level leers were arrested, including its Ameer (chief) Jamaat Dr Abdul Hamid Fayaz and vocate Zahid Ali (spokesperson).
Jamaat cres were picked up from various places, including Anantnag, Pahalgham, Dialgam, Tral -- all in south Kashmir. Jamaat termed raids as "fishy" at a time when Supreme Court is to hear a petition regarding Article 35A of Constitution, which grants special status to Jammu and Kashmir.
