Jamia Religious Conversion: Fact-Finding Committee Member Makes Shocking Claims

New Delhi: Jamia Islamia University is at centre of a row in wake of complaints alleging religious conversions taking place at campus. matter was highlighted a couple of weeks ago when a student me shocking claims alleging that she was sexually molested, harassed and was being forced to convert her faith by university ministration.

student also filed a complaint with Delhi Police, following which a probe was initiated. accusation sparked an outrage in university with several groups of students coming out in support of victim.

According to student, she was coerced into converting her faith and was subjected to sexual molestation, including her number being circulated on social media, inappropriate touch, and obscene gestures. student also alleged that she was socially boycotted by ministration and faced harassment on campus.

Now, speaking about matter, Professor Neem Ahm, a member of fact-finding committee, in an exclusive conversation with Republic TV said that re are over 50 people who have come forward and demanded justice. Statements of around 27 people have been recorded in this matter.

Jamia ministration has shown a very lackaisical approach in this matter and action must be taken against those who are behind it, Professor said.

Professor Ahm furr said that y have received complaints from faculty members and non-teaching staff from Hindu and Christian community that y are being discriminated at campus.

“Promotions were not given to certain staff because of ir religion and were also me to work extra,” Professor ded.

“We have submitted our report to ministration,” he said ding some close ones were being supported and encouraged.
