Jammu and Kashmir: Man dies of heart attack after losing Rs 5 lakh to visa scam
The accused, upon reaching Saudi, started giving lame excuses for the delay of Din's visa over phone. Finally, he told the victim that nothing can be done.

Rajouri, Jammu and Kashmir: A man in Darhal area of Rajouri died of heart attack after an immigration agent duped him of lakhs on the pretext of a visa. The family of Adil Din, the deceased, is now left with no option than to hope for justice. Jammu and Kashmir Police in Darhal has initiated action after directions were passed by top brass.
As per family members, Adil Din gave an amount of Rs 5 lakh to a local resident Manzoor Hussain for visa of Kuwait on December 2023. The accused Manzoor Hussain assured visa to the deceased Adil Din and fled to Saudi Arabia with the cash. The accused, upon reaching Saudi, started giving lame excuses for the delay of Din's visa over phone. Finally, he told the victim that nothing can be done.

Soon after hearing that he won't be getting any visa, Din suffered an heart attack and passed away on December 5. The family has also registered the complaint in Police Station Darhal on December 15. Nazim Kausar, the wife of victim also met Senior Superintendent of Police Rajouri Amritpal Singh, who assured her of justice and directions have been passed to officer incharge of the Darhal Police Station to carry out probe.
SHO Darhal Ashiq Lone told Republic that the Police has initiated the probe and the alleged accused Mazoor has returned back from Saudi Arabia and is undergoing treatment in Jammu. "We sent teams to his house in Lam area for Nowshera and they were informed that Manzoor is under treatment; we have asked him to appear. We will be looking for the transaction of amount, and if it turns out to be true, legal action will be initiated. As per family of victim, the money exchange has taken place when alleged accused Manzoor was in Saudi Arabia," he added.

Survived by wife, two sons and six daughters, Adil Din was lone breadwinner for the family and have taken the amount of five lakh as loan to go to abroad to earn some money for his family. The family now hope that justice will prevail, and they will get back the money, so that it can be returned to people from whom they have taken loan.
