Jharkhand: 2 Killed, 11 Injured as Autorickshaw Plunges into Gorge After Truck Collision
Truck Hits Multiple Vehicles; Only Autorickshaw Passengers Injured in Tragic Accident
Hazaribag: Two people were killed, and 11 others were injured when an autorickshaw plunged into a 30-foot-deep gorge after being hit by a truck In Jharkhand 's Hazaribagh district on Sunday. The incident occurred at around 9:30 a.m. in the Danua Valley area, according to local police.
The autorickshaw, carrying 13 passengers, was en route to Bihar when a speeding truck rear-ended the vehicle, causing it to tumble into the gorge, confirmed Deepak Kumar Singh, the officer in charge of Chouparan police station. After hitting the autorickshaw, the truck also collided with several other vehicles, though no one else was harmed in those collisions.
Rescue and Medical Response
All the injured passengers were initially rushed to the nearby community health center for immediate care. Later, they were transferred to Seikh Bhikhari Medical College and Hospital for advanced treatment.
The police are investigating the cause of the crash, with early reports pointing to the truck's excessive speed as a contributing factor.
