JNU: In midst of exam boycott, varsity to hold exams via WhatsApp and email
JNU has come up with an innovative way of holding semester-end exams via WhatsApp and email in the midst of the chaos at the varsity and exam boycott.

Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) has come up with an invative way of holding semester-end exams in midst of chaos at University and exam boycott. ministration will w be holding exams through WhatsApp and email. This decision was taken “in view of extraordinary situation” on campus, according to School of International Studies (SIS) Dean Aswini K Mohapatra.

“re was a consensus in meeting held on December 16 at 9:30 am that in acemic interest of JNU students, an alternate mode of test in end semester examination for MPhil/PhD and MA Programme be conducted,” said Mohapatra.
question papers will be sent to students registered for courses by course teachers for MPhil and MA programme as per examination schedule and students would submit ir answer scripts to respective course teachers for evaluation. last date for submission of examination scripts is December 21. Those who fail to return exam scripts within deline i.e. December 21 may be given an ditional day.

“Students may submit answer scripts eir through email or ims of hand-written scripts through WhatsApp or personally to course teachers.”
When asked about probability of students cheating ir way through exam, Mohapatra assured that at end of day given present circumstances what was more important was future of se students.

JNUSU calls move 'absurd'
This move was slammed by JNU Teachers’ Association (JNUTA) and JNU Students’ Union (JNUSU) who called this step “absurd” and “ludicrous”. “That such an unbelievably out-and-out mockery of what is supposed to be a serious acemic exercise can be conceived by JNU ministration under his leership speaks more about how unfit Professor Kumar is to he an institution of higher learning. Needless to say, thing proposed in te has been decided through due process,” said JNUTA.
