TikTok user Ashwani Kashyap, also known as 'Johnny Dada', who was a prime suspect of three murders including a former air hostess (Nikita Sharma), shot himself a few days back. Reports suggested that he was inspired by Shahid Kapoor's 'Kabir Singh' as one of his videos showed him mimicking the dialogues of his film - "Jo mera nahi ho sakta, use kisi aur ke hone ka mauka nahi doonga." Reacting to this, director Sandeep Reddy Vanga, in a conversation with a leading tabloid said that his films have never supported murder.

"I feel sorry for the girl and her family. It is unfortunate that people have lost their lives. As filmmakers, we are responsible for our craft and need to consider the repercussions, but never have my films [endorsed] killing anyone. Kabir Singh or even Arjun Reddy [the Telugu original] never [supported] murder. The man in question seems to have some psychological issue. Such people often look up to Bollywood celebrities, sportspersons or politicians. If you see Shahid’s character in the film, he is a self-destructive person who is harming himself more than anyone else," Reddy Vanga told Mid-day.

KABIR SINGH CONTROVERSY

Kabir Singh: Vijay Deverakonda defends Sandeep Reddy Vanga over controversial comment justifying film's plot

In an interview with an entertainment website, Arjun Reddy/Kabir Singh director Sandeep Reddy Vanga called the criticism as 'pseudo' and also said that the backlash faced with Kabir Singh was 'bizarre'. He said that when one questions the belief system of a person, is when one gets angry. When the host asked to elaborate on 'what pseudo' is, he explained by saying: "I feel it's pseudo because...you know...when you're deeply in love, deeply connected with a woman and vice versa, there's a lot of honesty in it. And if you don't have that physical demonstration of...if you don't have the liberty of slapping each other, then I don't see anything there."

He further goes on to say: "I feel that they were never in love, probably they've never experienced it in the right way. If you can't slap, if you can't touch your woman wherever you want, you can't kiss, you can't use cuss words, I don't see any emotion in that. Then it's all margins. There is nothing unconditional about it then. It's all conditions."
