Makkal Needhi Maiam (MNM) permanent president Kamal Haasan received his first dose of COVID-19 vaccine on Tuesday at a hospital in Chennai, actor-tuned politician informed. Kamal Haasan appealed to those eligible to register for iculation process and get vaccinated to help both mselves and ors. Taking to Twitter, Kamal Haasan shared a picture of himself receiving COVID-19 vaccine and claimed that vaccine against corruption was due next month - hinting at upcoming Assembly elections in Tamil Nadu.

All India Samathuva Makkal Katchi founder Sarath Kumar met Makkal Needhi Maiam's (MNM) Kamal Haasan to discuss possibilities of forming an alliance for upcoming Tamil Nadu Assembly elections. Previously an AIADMK ally, Sarath Kumar expressed interest in joining hands with Kamal Haasan for upcoming polls and said that a positive decision regarding alliance was expected soon. Addressing media persons on Saturday, Sarath Kumar claimed that he had a percent of vote bank in his favour and anunced his decision to move on from alliance with AIADMK as he received word from ruling party thus far.

MNM had also reportedly initiated alliance talks with Arvind Kejriwal's Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) but re has been word on it so far. Kamal Haasan also met Kollywood superstar Rajinikanth last week, triggering speculations of MNM leader meeting his friend to seek his support for upcoming elections, though he himself swiftly denied this. Kamal Haasan is expected to lead a third front in upcoming elections against AIADMK and DMK.

Erstwhile AIADMK ally Samathuva Makkal Katchi, headed by actor R Sarathkumar, joined hands with joins hands with SRM Group Paarivendhar's Indhiya Jananayaga Katchi to fight upcoming polls.
