Kanhaiya Kumar denies seeing Deepika Padukone at JNUSU protest: 'Was busy sloganeering'

Reacting to actress Deepika Pukone's sudden appearance at JNUSU's protest, CPI(M) leer and former JNUSU president Kanhaiya Kumar on Tuesday, said that he did t see Pukone as he was busy sloganeering. He also confirmed that he did t speak with actress and would have been happy to do so. Kanhaiya Kumar who was arrested in 2016 for raising seditious slogans in JNU, was leing protest were infamous 'Azai Azai' slogans were heard.

"We are t students and t in student union. We stand in solidarity with those who were thrashed. I did t see her (Deepika). I was sloganeering. I did t speak with her but would be happy to see and talk to her," he said.

Amid promotions of her next movie 'Chhapaak', actress Deepika Pukone was spotted on JNU campus in an apparent expression of solidarity with JNUSU after horrific attack on Sunday. She was also spotted talking with JNUSU president Aishe Ghosh - who was one of injured students in masked mob attack. ABVP has released a video claiming that Aishe was leing 'masked mob' while JNUSU has said that she was one stopping mob.
Pukone who was dressed in a black sweater was also seen sharing st with CPI(M) leer and former JNUSU president Kanhaiya Kumar. Sources report that actress spent only seven minutes outside Sabarmati campus where protests were going on. While BJP has slammed her appearance and asked for a boycott of movie - 'Chhapaak', Congress has said that she does t owe an explanation.

Delhi Police files FIR
Delhi police have filed an FIR against JNUSU president Aishe Ghosh for allegedly vandalising server room of university and attacking staff members. Ar FIR was filed on Sunday against unidentified goons who attacked 34 students and faculty in JNU campus. Delhi police crime branch is investigating into incident, while a separate fact-finding is probing into case. Police have urged public to come forward with videos and messs related to case.

Both student bodies have claimed that or student wing h attacked students using iron rods, by entering hostels with aide of 'masked mob'. 34 students and faculty members were mitted to AIIMS hospital - including JNUSU president Aishe Ghosh who was discharged from hospital on Monday. tussle between students was due to disagreement over student registration for Winter course, as stated by JNU ministration.
