Karnataka sees 487 new COVID-19 cases, 3 deaths

 Karnataka reported 487 new cases of COVID-19 and three fatalities on Sunday, the Heath Department said.

With this, the total number of infections rose to 9,42,518and the death toll to 12,236 so far, the department said.

The day also saw 493 patients getting discharged after recovery.

Out of the 487 cases, 250 cases were from urban Bengaluru alone.

As of the evening of February 7, a total of 9,42,518 positive cases were confirmed and that included 12,236 deaths and 9,24,304 people getting discharged, the bulletin said.

Out of 5,959 active cases, 5,818 patients are in isolation at designated hospitals and are stable while 141 are in the ICU.

Of the three deaths today, two are from urban Bengaluru and one from Mysuru.

Among the districts where the new cases were reported, Bengaluru accounted for250, Mysuru 38, Dakshina Kannada30, Kalaburagi20 followed by others.

Bengaluru urban district tops the list of positive cases with 4,00,565, Mysuru 53,576 and Ballari 39,175.

Among the discharged too, Bengaluru urban topped the list with 3,92,263 followed by Mysuru 52,355 and Ballari 38,537.

A total of 1,75,16,945 samples have been tested so far.

Out of this, 74,230 were tested today and 3,671 among them were rapid antigen tests.
