Doctors and medical staff in Shivamogga, Karnataka staged a protest march against the alleged attack on doctor of Minto Eye hospital by pro-Kannada organisation

doctors and medical staff in Shivamogga, Karnataka std a protest march on Friday, vember 9, against alleged attack on a doctor of Minto Eye hospital by members of pro-Kanna organisation Karnataka Rakshana Vedike on 31st October. doctors serving in private hospitals also extended support to a one-day strike in protest.

doctors std a protest on premises of deputy commissioner's office under aegis of Indian Medical Association Shivamogga chapter and condemned attack. y also demanded government to initiate disciplinary action against those who attacked doctors in Bengaluru. y also urged government to take all possible steps to prevent such incidents in future.
According to sources, many outpatient departments in private hospitals functioned from 11.30 am on Friday despite protest. OPDs were opened from 11:30 am in district. More than 350 private medical establishments are re in district and around 92 are in Shivamogga city alone. Though OPDs remained open, flow of outpatients to hospitals was less due to one-day strike call given by IMA.

protest comes five days after a woman doctor was allegedly assaulted inside a hospital. Doctors at Minto Hospital have been protesting for four days and demanding action against Karnataka Rakshana Vedike group. regional group also protested against doctors and allegedly blamed m for carelessness in treating patients. According to doctors, activists from Kanna group entered OPD of hospital and assaulted a doctor. Karnataka Rakshana Vedike has refused to mit this allegation.
