Kartarpur Corridor Ceremony: After sharing a front-row seat with Pak PM Imran Khan, a starry-eyed Navjot Sidhu says, ‘Whenever the history of Corridor is penned down, Khan's name will be on the first page’

Congress Leader Navjot Singh Sidhu barely held back at singing praises of Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan at the Kartarpur Corridor Ceremony held in Pakistan on November 28.

In his speech, addressing the gathered crowd Sidhu said, "When I came towards Baba Nanak, in Pakistan, I followed his (Guru Nanak's) philosophy. Indian Constitution says there should not be any differentiation with respect to caste and creed, and 500 years ago, Nanak said the same thing." 

He said that he lives in a space where his mind is without fear and head is held higher, further extolling the decision of Khan to hold the ceremony, "We are so thankful to my friend Imran Khan, very very thankful. He helped us to come to our roots."

"I am thankful for the government of India and Imran Khan for the corridor. Whenever the history of the corridor is penned down, Imran Khan's name will be on the first page. Khan-sahab, you gave us an important day to celebrate," he added. 

The Punjab leader claimed that religion cannot be seen from the same sight as terrorism, saying, "We can't see our religion with a glass of terrorism or criticism. Baba Nanak's philosophy always stood for uniting people and not distracting. This Corridor is going to connect the hearts of both countries. There has been a lot of loss and it has to stop."

"Both governments should ensure that issues should be resolved. I will keep thanking both the governments till I am alive and till my last breath, I will forever be thankful to you Khan-sahab," he concluded. 

Navjot Singh Sidhu's visit to Pakistan opened windows for controversies, a massive one coming from his own party in Punjab.
