Home Secretary Ajay Kumar Bhalla visited Kartarpur corridor on October 14 and inspected route ahe of inauguration of Kartarpur corridor by Prime Minister Narendra Modi scheduled for vember 8. Home Secretary was accompanied by or officials during visit, where he was apprised of progress done so far.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate much-awaited Kartarpur corridor to Sri Kartarpur Sahib in Pakistan on vember 8, Union Minister Harsimrat Bal said in a tweet.

'India committed to early completion of Kartarpur Corridor project'
Earlier, MEA spokesperson Raveesh Kumar said India hopes that infrastructure projects on Indian side is completed in a time-bound manner.
" four-lane highway has been completed and state-of--art passenger terminal will be completed by October end," Kumar said.

Manmohan Singh to attend Kartarpur ceremony
Former PM Dr Manmohan Singh has accepted Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh's invitation to attend Kartarpur Corridor ceremony in Pakistan along with him.

Pakistan invites Dr Manmohan Singh
Pakistan government also extended an invitation to Dr Manmohan Singh for Kartarpur Corridor inauguration on vember 9. A video invitation was extended by Pakistan Foreign Minister Mehmood Qureshi saying, "We are very happy about Kartarpur Corridor, Pakistan is preparing for it. Prime Minister (Imran Khan) is personally interested in this. We have decided to invite India's former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to grace his presence, he is very respected and also represents Sikh community. I would like to extend him an invitation from Pakistan, we will send a formal letter to him soon. We are very happy to receive Sikh pilgrims who are coming to Kartarpur."

Kartarpur corridor
Kartarpur Corridor is an under-construction border corridor between neighbouring nations of India and Pakistan, connecting Sikh shrines of Dera Baba Nanak Sahib (located in Punjab, India) and Gurdwara Darbar Sahib Kartarpur (in Punjab, Pakistan). corridor is intended to allow religious devotees from India to visit Gurdwara in Kartarpur, 4.7 kilometres (2.9 miles) from Pakistan-India border, without a visa. corridor will reportedly be completed before 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev in vember 2019.
