Kedarnath Dham's Doors Shut For Winter Season | Details

New Delhi: doors of revered Kedarnath Dham were closed for winter season on Sunday on occasion of Bhai Dooj.

doors were closed with Vedic rituals and religious tritions amidst chanting of Om Namah Shivay, Jai Baba Kedar and devotional tunes of Indian Army band.

As per a government release, more than 15,000 devotees were present to witness closing of doors. temple was decorated with flowers in a grand manner from day of Diwali itself.

process of closing doors started at 5 am on Sunday in presence of Brinath- Kedarnath Temple Committee (BKTC) President Ajendra Ajay, Acharyas, Vedpathis and priests of BKTC performed Samhi Puja of self-manifested Shivalinga of Lord Kedarnath. self-manifested Shivalinga was given Samhi form with ashes, local flowers, Bel leaves. At 08:30 am, Baba Kedar's Panchmukhi Utsav Doli was brought out of temple, after which doors of Shri Kedarnath temple were closed.

With closing of doors, Baba Kedar's Panchmukhi Utsav Doli left for its first stop Rampur. Thousands of devotees left on foot with Baba's Panchmukhi Doli. Bhandaaras were organized at various places for devotees. Today wear in Kedarnath was clear. Due to sw around, cold winds also kept blowing but re was great enthusiasm among devotees.

On occasion of closing of doors, BKTC President Ajendra Ajay said that during this Yatra period, a record more than 16.5 lakh pilgrims reached Kedarnath Dham. grand and divine Kedarpuri is being rebuilt with vision of country's illustrious Prime Minister Narendra Modi .

Kedarnath Dham Yatra was successfully conducted under guidance of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. He earlier thanked personnel of BKTC, police - ministration, various departments related to travel arrangements, NDRF, SDRF, ITBP etc. for successful conduct of Yatra.

As per a BKTC release, Baba Kedar's Panchmukhi Doli will stay overnight at Rampur today on vember 3, will stay overnight at Vishwanath Temple Guptkashi on Monday, vember 4 and will reach winter seat Omkareshwar Temple Ukhimath on Tuesday, vember 5. In winter, Baba Kedar's worship will be performed in Omkareshwar Temple Ukhimath itself.

doors of Brinath Dham will close on vember 17 this year. doors of Gangotri Dham were closed for winter on Saturday, vember 2. doors of 'Yamtri Dham' will be closed on Sunday, in afteron, on occasion of Bhaiyooj.

doors of holy Gurudwara Hemkund Sahib and Lokpal Laxman temple were closed on October 10. doors of second Kedar Mmaheshwar Ji will be closing on vember 20 and doors of third Kedar Tungnath Ji will close on Monday, vember 4. doors of fourth Kedar Rudranath Ji were closed on October 17.
