Principal, Vice-principal of Kerala school suspended on Friday following a snake bite incident which claimed the life of a 9 -year old girl student

Principal and Vice-principal of Sarvajana Government Higher Secondary School in Wayan's Sulthan Bary were suspended on Friday following a snake bite incident in school which claimed life of a girl student. On Wednesday, nine-year-old Shehla Sherin lost her life due to gross apathy of school authorities and four hospitals denying and delaying emergency treatment to child.

Even after reaching hospital, Shehla could t get emergency medical treatment that she needed. She was first taken to a private hospital which denied her treatment citing that y did t have anti-vem. After this, she was referred to Government Taluk Hospital at Sulthan Bary. Upon seeing Shehla's condition,  doctors in ward panicked calling for an ambulance that took her to ar hospital. Yet again at Vythiri Taluk Hospital, she was denied treatment and finally during shuttling and shuffling from one hospital to ar, Shehla bread her last upon reaching Good Shepherd Hospital.

Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan h earlier promised to take strict action against those responsible for apathy, he dressed same in a post on Facebook. "Fellow students say that even after y pleed  teachers to take student to hospital y completely igred it. incident is deeply sdening and I will interfere to ensure strict action is taken," he said.

"Teachers are supposed to teach students how to respond to a situation like this. But we came to kw that some of teachers in school refused to take child to hospital on time despite demands from students,” he said.

Moreover, Director of Public Education has directed ditional Director (Acemic) to conduct a departmental inquiry into Sarvajana Secondary School in Kerala and submit a report  Kerala State Commission for Protection of Child Rights has also taken a suo moto case against teachers of Sarvajana in incident.
