King cobra rescued from well in Odisha village, later released in forest
A 12-15 feet long king cobra was rescued from a well in Burujhari village in Odisha on July 22. As per reports, the incident took place in the Ganjam district.

A 12-15 feet long king cobra was rescued from a well in Burujhari vill in Odisha on July 22. According to reports, incident took place in Ganjam district of state and snake was rescued by forest officials, who later released it into wild. As per news ncy ANI, locals spotted snake in an abandoned well and informed state forest department immediately, who n sent a team to spot and carried out rescue operation.

One of two rescuers who carried out operation told press that it took m at least one hour to completely rescue snake. Swapnalok Mishra, a snake rescuer said, snake was 12-15 feet long and was released in Khallikote forest on orders of officials following a health check-up. King cobra is found throughout Souast Asia and is currently listed as vulnerable on International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) Red List. habitat of world's longest vemous snake species is threatened due to growing deforestation.

Burmese python rescue
Earlier, a Burmese python was rescued in Assam's Nagaon district on July 11 following which it was released in Swang Reserve Forest. According to reports, 16-foot python was rescued from Borghat Chapanala area in district situated 121 kilometres east of capital Guwahati. video of rescue operation was captured on camera and was shared by news ncy ANI on July 12. In foot, apparently captured by locals, a man can be seen putting snake into a bag.
