Kishore Kumar's 90th birth anniversary: Madhya Pradesh culture minister announces setting up of museum at his birth place

The 90th birth anniversary of singer Kishore Kumar was celebrated on Sunday in Khandwa in Madhya Pradesh, with state culture minister Vijaylaxmi Sadho​​​​​​​ announcing that a museum dedicated to the film legend would be set up.

90th birth anniversary of singer Kishore Kumar was celebrated on Sunday in Khandwa in Mhya Presh, with state culture minister Vijaylaxmi Sho anuncing that a museum dedicated to film legend would be set up. Kumar, whose mellifluous voice regaled listeners for several deces, was born in Khandwa on August 4, 1929 before he shifted to Mumbai and went on to become one of tinsel town's enduring legends.

"We have decided to make a museum in Khandwa dedicated to Kishore Kumar and a provision in Mhya Presh budget has been me for this," minister Sho told reporters.  Kumar's fans assembled and offered 'doodh jalebi', a favourite with singer, to his portrait, while ors demanded that he be bestowed with Bharat Ratna. Among those present at function was Bollywood singer Vid Rathod, said Sunil Jain, spokesperson of Kishore Sanskritik Prerna Manch.

" legendary singer often said 'doodh jalebi khayenge, Khandwa me bas jayenge' (will have jalebi dipped in milk and settle down in Khandwa). A few of his popular songs were also sung," Jain said. On Saturday, several people under banner of All India Kishore Kumar Fans Club h taken out a colourful​​​​​​​ procession from Kumar's childhood residence in Bombay Baazar​​​​​​​ to his memorial located on Indore Ro.

"He should be given Bharat Ratna," said fan Deva Kishore while ar from Ahmedab, Parag Mehta, said he h been signing cover versions of legend's songs for 21 years and seconded demand. A medley of artistes performed Kumar's songs at functions in Sitaram Chowk and Budhwara area of city.

Ministers sing Kishore Kumar's classic

Ahe of Abhayas Varga held by BJP on Saturday in New Delhi for its MPs, lawmakers Rajyavardhan Rathore, Babul Supriyo, Maj Tiwari and Ravi Kishan jammed toger to sing ir own rendition of a classic. 

Asansol MP Supriyo who was a playback singer before becoming a politcian sang Bengali version of Kishore Kumar's classic 'Ye Shaam Mastani' as Jaipur Rural MP Rathore recorded him. Soon MP from Delhi Maj Tiwari joined Supriyo and trio began crooning song. y were finally joined by Gorakhpur MP Ravi Kishen who whistled tune along with ir singing.
