Kolkata police asks citizens of the city to dial 100 if they feel depressed

The Kolkata police have requested the people of the city to call or contact them to share their problems to beat their loneliness and overcome stress.

In backdrop of rise in number of cases of depression due to lockdown and alleged suicide by Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput, Kolkata police have requested people of city to call or contact m to share ir problems to beat ir loneliness and overcome stress.

"Speak out! Talk it out! Let emotions flow out! re is always light at end of tunnel! In case of any distress #Dial100. We are re for you. #TeamKP #WeDareWeCare," Kolkata Commissioner of Police Anuj Sharma tweeted.

When contacted Sharma said, "Anybody who is feeling depressed should t think y are alone. y can always call us and talk to us". Kolkata police personnel during initial days of lockdown were seen lending ir voices to inspirational songs on streets of Kolkata in a bid to lift sagging spirit of people confined in ir homes by lockdown. Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput was found hanging in his apartment in Mumbai on Sunday sending shockwaves through Hindi film industry and elsewhere.
