Kolkata Horror: CBI Concludes 12-Hour Search at House of RG Kar's Ex-Principal Sandip Ghosh

Kolkata: As part of the ongoing investigation into the postgraduate trainee doctor's rape and murder at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital, CBI team arrived at Kolkata Presidency Jail on Sunday to conduct a polygraph test on the accused, Sanjoy Roy. 

As CBI continues its probe into the horrific rape and murder case, the prime accused in the case, Sanjoy Roy, is currently undergoing a polygraph test.

  • CBI Ends 12-Hour Search at Sandeep Ghosh's House, Takes Files Amid "Chor" Chants

After a 12-hour search, the CBI has wrapped up its operation at Sandeep Ghosh's house in Beleghata. The CBI team left with several files as part of their investigation.
Sandeep Ghosh, who was inside during the search, came out of his house as the CBI team departed. Outside, a crowd had gathered, shouting "Chor" (thief), reflecting the public's suspicion and anger.
The files taken by the CBI are believed to be important for their investigation, though no details have been shared yet.

  • 'Bahut Kuch Hai,' Says CBI on Evidence in RG Kar Hospital Probe

A CBI official said they've found a lot of important evidence. When asked if there was concrete proof, the official said, "Bahut kuch hai," suggesting there are significant findings that could affect the case.

But in reality, neither 30 CCTVs have been found, nor has the cost of 30 lakhs been calculated. Sandeep Ghosh is alleged to have played a role behind this CCTV scam.

The CBI team is still at the residence of former Principal of RG Kar, Sandip Ghosh to probe the case of Kolkata doctor's rape and murder case.  As per information,11 CBI officers are present at the moment. 

  • Polygraph test of accused Sanjoy Roy underway

As per reports, Sanjoy Roy broke down when the magistrate asked him for his consent to take the polygraph test.

“I have not committed any crime. I am being framed. Maybe the polygraph test will prove this thing,” he stated in front of the magistrate

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) raided the residence of former RG Kar Medical College principal Sandeep Ghosh on Sunday morning in a financial irregularities case. The CBI Team reached the former principal's Beleghata house at 6:35 AM in the morning to conduct the probe into the financial irregularities case.

  • CBI raids RG Kar principal's close aide, Debashish Som

CBI on Sunday also raided the residence of Debashish Som, who is a close aide of former RG Kar Principal Sandip Ghosh. Dr Som is associated with the Forensic Department of RG Kar Hospital and came under the lens of CBI during an interrogation of Ghosh.

  • CBI Questions 15 People on Saturday

The CBI intensified its efforts in the ongoing probe into the case and questioned over 15 people on Saturday, including 10 police officers and civic volunteers.

  • Lie detection tests on Ex-RG Kar principal Sandip Ghosh

The probe agency on Saturday began lie detection tests on former RG Kar Medical and Hospital principal Sandip Ghosh and five others in connection with their investigation into the rape murder of a woman doctor at the institute. The CBI has also registered a case of alleged financial irregularities at the same facility. 

 

 All About Kolkata Doctor Rape-Murder Case

On August 9, the body of the 31-year-old medic was discovered in a semi-naked state in the seminar hall of the hospital.

Autopsy reports reveal that the victim was sexually assaulted and then murdered. Her neck was broken, and she suffered severe injuries, with multiple body parts, including her private areas, bleeding.

 Sanjoy Roy, a civic worker, has been arrested in the crime. Roy has confessed to the crime but reportedly shows no remorse, according to local media.

In response to the widespread outrage, the Calcutta High Court transferred the case to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on August 13, amid a nationwide call for justice.
