4 Students Missing Ahead of 'Nabanna Abhijan', Protest Seeking Justice for Abhaya - Claims BJP

Kolkata: As Kolkata gears up for a massive students protest ‘Nabanna Abhijan’ seeking Justice for Abhaya, BJP has claimed that four student activists are missing since midnight.

This claim has been made by BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari who in a post on ‘X’, has also mentioned the names of these allegedly missing students and has sought attention from TMC government.

Names of 4 Students Missing Since Midnight Before ‘Nabanna Abhijan’

In a post on ‘X’ (formerly known as Twitter), BJP's Suvendu Adhikari has claimed that four students, who had come for the ‘Nabanna Abhjan’, a student protest against the Kolkata Rape and Murder, are missing since midnight.

The post read, "The following Student Activists who were distributing food to the volunteers, who were arriving at Howrah Station, suddenly went missing after midnight -

  1. Subhojit Ghosh 
  2. Pulokesh Pandit 
  3. Goutam Senapati 
  4. Pritam Sarkar

Students Remain Untraceable, BJP Blames Mamata Govt

Suvendu Adhikari's post further read, “Neither they can be traced nor are they answering their phones.We apprehend that they may have been arrested/detained by the Mamata Police. If something happens to them Mamata Police will be held accountable.”

The BJP leader has tagged the Bengal Governor and the Calcutta Police among other people in his post.

Tensions continue to prevail in West Bengal ahead of the massive protest march, 'Nabanna Abhijan,' or march to 'Nabanna' (state secretariat) on Tuesday, August 27, demanding the resignation of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee over the alleged rape of 31-year-old trainee doctor at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital. 

Following this, the authorities have heightened the security arrangements with over 4,000 personnel set to form barricades at different locations across the state, as per reports.
