Kolkata: In the latest developments in the Kolkata rape and murder case, the Supreme Court is set to hear pleas today in the case concerning the 31-year-old trainee doctor. A bench of Chief Justice DY Chandrachud and Justices JB Pardiwala and Manoj Misra will hear the case, following an initial hearing on August 22 when the court took suo motu notice of the matter. Meanwhile, reports indicate that West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has asked TMC MP Jawhar Sircar, who on Sunday declared that he would resign as the party's Rajya Sabha member in response to the RG Kar case, to reconsider his decision.
This follows a large-scale protest on Sunday, where thousands, including Abhaya's parents, participated in the "Reclaim the Night" demonstration across West Bengal. In response to the protests, state governor CV Ananda Bose has directed Mamata Banerjee to convene an emergency Cabinet meeting to address the issue.

The MP also pointed out that was a more systemic issue with the state's health sector.

The Indian diaspora in 130 cities and 25 countries on Sunday organised protests on Sunday demanding justice got the trainee doctor who was raped and brutally murdered in RG Kar Hospital in Kolkata.

Abhaya's parents had alleged that their daughter's body was cremated in a rush and the postmortem was also done rather quickly. Several details have been revealed in the autopsy report submitted to the top court, which hints at the fact that the victim's body was ‘brought’ into the hospital from somewhere outside.
Meanwhile, RBangla reports suggest that according to the autopsy report submitted to the Supreme Court, at 12:44, Abhaya was ‘brought’ to RG Kar Hospital.
The report mentions the word ‘brought'. 'Abhaya' was on duty for 36 hours continuously and so what has the report been by the world 'brought into RG Kar'.
