Imphal: A suspected cadre of the Kuki National Army-Burma (KNA-B) was apprehended in Chandel district by Assam Rifles and handed over to the Manipur Police on Sunday, as per soources.
The individual, identified as Thangliankap, hails from Khampat, Myanmar. He is currently being held at Chandel Police Station.
According to intelligence sources, Thangliankap was conducting reconnaissance of the jungle route from Moreh to Churachandpur, allegedly in preparation for supplying arms.
This marks the first concrete evidence of KNA-Burma's involvement in the ongoing violence in Manipur , as it is the first time an individual has been arrested in connection with such activities.
