Ladakh Lt. Guv meets Nitin Gadkari; discusses developmental projects to boost economy

In a bid to discuss developmental projects of Lakh, Lieutenant Goverr R K Mathur on Wednesday met Union Minister Nitin Gkari in New Delhi. This development comes a month after Nitin Gkari virtually initiated ‘first blast’ of Zojila Tunnel project on October 14,
Lt. Guv Mathur thanked Nitin Gkari for sanction and launch of work on Zojila tunnel. In response, Gkari assured that project shall be completed in a few years. y furr discussed or issues of ro connectivity including national highways, internal ros in Lakh, need for ditional tunnels and assistance to local MSMEs.

R K Mathur furr sought Nitin Gkari's help in exploiting full ecomic potential of Pashmina produced in Lakh. He stressed upon need to support promotion of Pashmina as a means of rural livelihood and a good revenue-generating avenue for youth.
Zojila Tunnel is an ambitious project that ensures all-wear connectivity between Srinagar and Leh. Calling it a watershed moment in ro history of J&K and Lakh, Minister of Ro Transport & Highways said that geo-sensitive Zojila stretch is strategically important to defence of our country.

Earlier, Gkari h said that Zojila tunnel will t only provide all-wear connectivity but will also furr strengn ecomic and social-cultural integration of both Union Territories.
