On occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, world's largest Khadi national flag was installed in town of Leh. flag was inaugurated by Ladakh Lieutenant Goverr RK Mathur and Army Chief General Maj Mukund Naravane also present at event. Naravane spoke to media during event and talked about current situation with both, Pakistan and China. He said, “re were ceasefire violations by Pak army from February till June-end. But of late, re have been increased infiltration attempts that weren't supported by ceasefire violations. In last 10 days, re have been two ceasefire violations. Slowly, situation is regressing to pre-February days.” Army Chief said that two armies talk every week and Indian army has conveyed it multiple times to t support any terror-related activities.

Army chief General Naravane spoke highly of performance of newly procured K-9 VAJRA Self-Propelled Artillery and said, “se guns can also work in high-altitude areas, field trials were extremely successful. We have w added an entire regiment, this will be really helpful.”

situation with Chinese

Army Chief said that Chinese Army has stationed a large number of men in many regions of Eastern Ladakh and rrn front till Eastern command. He furr informed that over last few weeks, re has been an increase in number of ir soldiers in region. He said, “We're regularly monitoring all ir movements. Based on inputs we get, we're also carrying out matching developments both in infrastructure as well in terms of troops that are needed to counter any threat. At moment, we're quite well poised to meet any eventuality.”

He furr added that re will be 13th round of discussion, which is scheduled to be held in second week of October. As situation over past six months has remained rmal, latest developments will be discussed with Chinese counterparts. He said, “By and by all friction points will get resolved. I am of firm opinion that we can resolve our differences through dialogue. I am hopeful we will be able to achieve results.”
