'Let Patna remain Patna, not Paris': JDU's Ajay Alok on waterlogging
JDU leader Ajay Alok has admitted that all the attempts by the administration to flush out water from the inundated areas in the Patna have gone down the drain

JDU leader Ajay Alok, while alleging that all the attempts by the administration to flush out water from the inundated areas in the Patna have gone down the drain, on Monday, took a jibe at the state government of the party from which he hails, saying that instead of promising Patna’s transformation into Paris, "its more than enough if Patna remains Patna".
'Government's mismanagement caused the havoc'
Blaming the flood situation in the state on the government’s mismanagement, he said that it was government's failure that rainwater crippled the state capital and cause so much of havoc in various parts of the state.

He said, "Ten days have passed and 3-4 foot water is still there in houses in Patna. This is a failure on part of the government. Despite all the attempts by the administration water is not flushed out.” He also added, "There is a need to revisit. Leave apart the question of Patna becoming Paris, it would be more than enough if Patna remains Patna.”

'Responsibility lies on all'
Alok, when asked about BJP and JDU blaming each other for the situation in the state, further stated that the responsibility of dealing with such a situation lies on both the parties running a coalition government in the state. He said, "In the coalition government, the responsibility lies on all. This is the time to accept the mistake and rectify it.

Several areas of the city faced one of the worst water-logging in many years owing to incessant rainfall in the region. Over 73 people have lost their lives after heavy rains in Bihar. Additionally, a lot of houses were washed away and boats had to be deployed to rescue people. Moreover, many animals also lost their lives to the fury of the floods this year.
