LG Manoj Sinha thanks PM Modi for developmental projects and encouraging sports in J&K

J&K Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) for the 10 new bridges in the Union Territory.

Lieutenant Goverr of Jammu and Kashmir Maj Sinha thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Border Ros Organisation (BRO) for 10 new bridges in Union Territory (UT). Sinha said that se developments will help in connectivity and will also facilitate development in UT.

" newly inaugurated bridges will play a crucial role in strengning connectivity to far-flung areas of J-K and enhancing operational efficiency of our forces. I strongly believe that bridges are t only a critical component of country's infrastructure but y also connect people and have power to change destiny of a society and ecomy of region," Sinha said during meeting held via video conferencing.

Defence Minister inaugurates 44 bridges

Earlier in day, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh inaugurated 44 bridges me by BRO across seven States and UTs in an event through video conferencing.

Defence Minister also asserted that construction of bridges will facilitate military and civil transport in western, rrn and rast areas of country.

"Our armed forces personnel are deployed in large numbers in areas where transport is t available throughout year," Defence Minister said.

Lieutenant Goverr on Sunday inaugurated sports infrastructure worth Rs 49.78 crore and laid foundation of various projects costing Rs 10.5 Crore across Union Territory in a function held at Pologround in Srinagar.

Sinha said that youth of J&K has immense potential for representing country in various form of sports. Jammu and Kashmir is witnessing a new revolution in sports sector. Union Territory is equally equipped like or states of India and is rey to produce world-class sportspersons, he ded.

In order to encour sports culture in Jammu and Kashmir, Sinha said that Prime Minister has sanctioned Rs 200 crore under Prime Minister's Development Pack for up-gration of sports infrastructure and encourment of budding talent in field.
