New Delhi: In his first reaction after the 2024 Assembly poll debacle, former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy lashed out at the ruling Telugu Desam Party (TDP) saying that the law and order situation in the state has deteriorated as TDP is taking revenge from those who did not vote for them in the polls.
In an exclusive interview with Republic, YSCRP chief Jagan Mohan Reddy said,” Our regime was such a good regime that even those people who did not vote for us got the benefits of our schemes. Just because someone has not voted for them they have started beating them up. They are beating YSRCP sympathisers. There is no law and order, there is lawlessness everywhere, they are displaying red book.”

Every Party Must Visit Andhra Pradesh
When asked on whether he is looking for support from the Congress on the matter, Jagan Reddy said that he has invited every party to come and visit the state and witness the prevailing law and order situation.
“I have no animosity towards them. We have invited every party to have a look at what is happening in Andhra Pradesh, at least come and see then make up your mind,” he said.

Jagan Reddy further stated that he has also reached out to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, and President Droupadi Murmu over the matter and is waiting to get their appointments.
Madness Going on Under TDP
“We have asked for an appointment with the Prime Minister, Home Minister, and President now whether they will give it or not is not in my hands. All the parties see what is happening and can take a call on whether it should be encouraged or not,” he said.

When asked if TDP is implying Tit-For-Tat tactics with YSRCP, Jagan Reddy said that violence of this sort never happened under his tenure.
“It is not tit for tat…this is stupidity and madness going on in here under TDP. Imagine your name being printed in a red book and then they are putting up posters of it in the state and then they are coming for you and vandalising your house…” Jagan said.

Former Andhra CM added that Chandrababu’s son Nara Lokesh is openly displaying the Red Book in the state which YSRCP alleged that it contains names of those who will be targeted in TDP’s tenure.
Jagan Reddy also sidestepped the question over TDP’s allegation that 2,800 of their workers were killed during his tenure.
“Nobody does these kinds of stupid things. I humbly request you to come and see for yourselves and condemn such incidents. Such incidents are not healthy for democracy,” he said.
TDP Rejects Jagan’s Allegations
Union Minister Chandra Sekhar Pemmasani and a leader of BJP’s ally TDP refuted the former Chief Minister’s allegations in an interview with Republic.
“Jagan Reddy is known for fake propaganda and false information. He said 30 people have been killed, let him give those names and where those murders have happened. As far as i know, only 5 killings have happened…and all these murders as far as I know are more of a personal rivalry,” he said.
Jagan Doing Drama
“He lost so miserably and now he could not show face to the Andhra people, this is just a drama. He is a habitual liar. Killing and atrocities in DNA of Jagan Mohan Reddy,” said the Union Minister, adding that under Jagan’s five-year tenure around 2,800 TDP workers were killed.
Union Minister also said that if Jagan provides evidence then his government will act on it.
“Also the Red Book has nothing to do with it. The red book contains the names of those officials who under Jagan Reddy did not allow Chandrababu Naidu and Nara Lokesh to do Padyatras. So to remember their names this red book was made so that these officials could be taken to court,” he said.
Akhilesh Yadav Should Not fall for Jagan’s Fake Promises
On Jagan Reddy’s meeting with Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav in New Delhi, the Union Minister said, “Akhilesh Ji should go to Andhra Pradesh and talk to the people to understand ground realities and don’t believe in Jagan Reddy’s fake promises.”
In June, Chandrababu Naidu assumed charge as Andhra chief minister and the second time after the bi-furcation in 2014.
