Maha to play intra-state buses to ferry stranded people

The Maharashtra government decided to ply about 10,000 buses to ferry stranded people from one district to another within the state amidst the ongoing coronavirus-induced lockdown.

Mumbai, May 5 (PTI) Maharashtra government on Tuesday decided to ply about 10,000 buses to ferry stranded people from one district to ar within state amidst ongoing coronavirus-induced lockdown.

"After anuncement of lockdown was made (on March 24), several people got stuck at distant locations from ir homes. government has w decided to ply 10,000 buses of Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) for free to drop m to ir native places," State Relief and Rehabilitation Minister Vijay Wadettiwar said.

He said various procedural details and standard operating procedure will be put out in next couple of days.

government had anunced some relaxations during third phase of lockdown, which will remain in force till May 17.
