Maharashtra: Former President of the Indian National Congress Rahul Gandhi is also set to hold a rally in Dharavi 6 days before the state goes to polls

Sources have reported that former Indian National Congress (INC) President and Member of Parliament from Wayan Rahul Gandhi is set to hold his first election rally in Mumbai on October 13. Gandhi will dress a public rally in Dharavi. Sources have furr reported that he will be campaigning for Mumbai Congress chief Eknath Gaikw's daughter Varsha Gaikw. Varsha will be contesting for seat in Legislative Assembly from Dharavi.

A source close to Congress previously reported that Congress leers Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi are likely to limit ir campaign run in Maharashtra for upcoming Assembly Elections. With only days left for assembly elections in Haryana and Maharashtra, reports claim that former Congress chief Rahul Gandhi flew to Bangkok on October 5. However, reason for his Bangkok trip remains unkwn. According to sources from Congress camp, re are allegations that Wayan MP has "abandoned" his responsibilities in party during elections. Slamming former Congress president Rahul Gandhi for leaving party ahe of assembly polls, Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray in an event dressing Sena workers on October 8, stated 'Senapati' of grand old party is gone.

Sonia Gandhi will be campaigning for Congress in Maharashtra
Sources furr reveal that current party President Sonia Gandhi will be campaigning for Congress in Maharashtra and Haryana elections. Reports suggest after recent All India Congress Committee (AICC) meeting, re were speculations that Sonia Gandhi may dress two rallies in Haryana and three to four rallies in Maharashtra. Furr, she will be dressing one rally with ir ally- NCP Chief Shar Pawar. However, schedule for same is yet to be disclosed. Sonia Gandhi came to power as party President after Rahul Gandhi resigned from his post after 19 months of holding high seat.

Assembly polls are scheduled on October 21
elections in Maharashtra are scheduled to take place on October 21 with results being declared on October 24. BJP is set to contest elections with Shiv Sena. INC and NCP are also going to be contesting in an alliance. While NCP-INC duo faced a major loss in General Elections, internal tussle in BJP-Sena alliance has been reported. With such a political situation in state, upcoming assembly election will be a test for both alliance.
