Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari announces financial relief for affected farmers
Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Koshyari took stock of the damage caused to crops due to unseasonal rains and announced financial relief for the affected farmers.

Maharashtra Goverr Bhagat Singh Koshyari on Saturday took stock of dam caused to crops due to unseasonal rains in state in months of October and vember. He anunced financial relief in form of Rs.8,000 per hectare up to 2 hectares for Kharif crops and Rs.18,000 per hectare up to 2 hectares for horticulture or perennial crops. Furrmore, Goverr declared that land revenue of affected region would be exempted. ditionally, school and college fees of children of affected farmers have been waived off. Goverr Koshyari directed ministration to immediately disburse relief.

Former CM visits Goverr
On Thursday, former Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fnavis paid a visit to Goverr requesting him to release funds to affected farmers. He also called for reopening of CM relief fund. Also, Shiv Sena, NCP, and Congress leers were set to meet Goverr at 4.30 pm on Saturday to discuss issues related to welfare of farmers. However, this meeting was cancelled.

Maharashtra power tussle
Amid farmer crisis in Maharashtra, government formation has been stalled owing to breakdown of BJP-Shiv Sena alliance. As party could furnish eugh letters of support from MLAs for government formation, Goverr contended that it was impossible to constitute a stable government in state. Thus, President's Rule was imposed in Maharashtra on Tuesday. Hectic parlays are going on in NCP, Shiv Sena, and Congress camps to forge a post-poll alliance for formation of government in state. NCP supremo Shar Pawar is set to meet Congress president Sonia Gandhi on Sunday to take a call on Common Minimum Programme (CMP).
