Maharashtra, Jharkhand Assembly Elections Full Schedule Announced: Check Details
Maharashtra and Jharkhand Assembly elections 2024 schedule has been announced by the Election Commission of India.

Assembly Elections 2024: Election Commission of India (ECI) on Tuesday announced schedule for Maharashtra and Jharkhand Assembly elections 2024. Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar informed that Maharashtra will vote in one single phase on November 20 and Jharkhand elections will take place in two phases on November 13 and 20. results will be declared on November 23.

- Date of Polling: November 20, Wednesday
- Number of Assembly seats in Maharashtra : 288, counting to take place in single phase.
- Date of Counting: November 23, Saturday
Jharkhand Assembly Election 2024 | Complete schedule
- Date of polling: November 13 and 20
- Phases: Two phase polling. First phase 43 seats and second phase 38 seats. Total seats: 81
- Date of counting: November 23
UP, Bengal, Wayan By Elections | Complete schedule
- UP bypolls on 9 seats: November 13
- Wayan byelection: November 13
- Counting of votes: November 23
Apart from Uttar Presh, bypolls will take place in Assam , Bihar , Chhattisgarh , Gujarat , Karnataka, Kerala , Mhya Presh , Maharashtra , Meghalaya , Punjab , Rajasthan , Sikkim, Uttarakhand and West Bengal. A total of 48 Assembly constituencies and two Parliamentary constituencies will go for polls.

"re are 9.63 crore eligible voters in Maharashtra , while number of eligible voters in Jharkhand is 2.6 crore," Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar said at a press conference here.
Bypolls will also be held in 48 assembly seats and two Lok Sabha seats, CEC said Bye-elections to 47 assembly seats and Wayan Lok Sabha seat, vacated by Congress leer Rahul Gandhi , will be held on November 13.

Bypolls to Kedarnath assembly seat in Uttarakhand and Nanded Lok Sabha seat in Maharashtra will be held on November 20. Bypolls to Basirhat Lok Sabha seat in West Bengal and Milkipur in Uttar Presh were not announced as election petitions are pending for two seats.
Kumar said elections will be held in both states on Wednesdays to dress problem of urban apathy.

BJP is keen to retain power in Maharashtra along with allies Shiv Sena led by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and NCP led by Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar .
BJP led Mahayuti alliance is facing a challenge from Maha Vikas Aghi coalition of Congress -NCPSP-Shiv SenaUBT, which hopes to repeat its performance in Lok Sabha elections. opposition MVA alliance won 31 of 48 seats in Maharashtra in Lok Sabha elections.

In Jharkhand , Congress is playing second fiddle to Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) led by Chief Minister Hemant Soren, while BJP is looking to make a comeback.
