AAP's Mahesh Khichi Elected New Mayor Of Delhi With 133 Votes, BJP Gets 130

New Delhi: Aam Ami Party's (AAP) candidate Mahesh Khichi has been elected as new mayor of Delhi after AAP got 133 votes in Delhi's Mayoral elections. Bharatiya Janata Party received 130 votes.

After results of mayoral elections were declared, Mahesh Kumar Khichi, accompanied by party MP Sanjay Singh and or leers, showed victory sign inside MCD House.

While Khichi was elected next Mayor, AAP candidate Ravinder Bhardwaj has been elected as new Deputy Mayor unopposed.

Speaking to media after his election, Ravinder Bhardwaj expressed his gratitude to all members of Delhi Municipal Corporation (MCD) across party lines for electing him unopposed.

Furr, congratulating Bhardwaj on his win AAP convener Arvind Kejriwal said, "Many congratulations to Ravindra Bhardwaj ji on being elected as Deputy Mayor in Municipal Corporation. Take forward public welfare works being done in corporation with strength."

Who is Mahesh Khichi?

Mahesh Kumar Khichi, a Dalit candidate fielded by Arvind Kejriwal -led party, defeated BJP Kishan Lal by a very thin margin of three votes. While Khichi got 133 votes, Lal secured 130 votes. Two votes were declared invalid. eight councillors of Congress did not participate in voting process.
