Major Reshuffle In Jammu And Kashmir Police Amid Terror Concerns: 9 Districts Get New SSPs

Jammu: In a major reshuffle in Jammu and Kashmir police, at least 38 police officers including IPS officers have been transferred and assigned new responsibilities in Union Territory. transfer of IPS officers included Senior Superintendents of Police (SSPs) of 09 districts of UT, amidst concern over increasing terrorist attacks in past few months. 

transfer and postings of district police chiefs of Baramulla, Ganderbal, Handwara, Rajouri, Samba, Doda, Kishtwar, Poonch, Reasi and police district of Awantipora have taken place with six of 10 districts of Jammu division getting new police chiefs.

According to an order issued by Principal Secretary (Home) Chandrakar Bharti, 38 SSPs and SPs have been transferred, including ditional SPs, commandants of armed battalions, police hequarters, traffic, security and CID wings.

SSPs of 09 districts, who have been transferred across Jammu and Kashmir are:

1. IPS Gurinderpal Singh has been appointed as SSP of Baramulla
2. IPS Raghav S has been appointed as SSP of Ganderbal 
3. IPS Gaurav Sikarwar has been appointed as SSP of Rajouri 
4. IPS Virender Kumar Manhas has been appointed as SSP of Samba 
5. IPS Sandeep Mehta has been appointed as SSP of Doda 
6. IPS Javed Iqbal has been appointed as SSP of Kishtwar 
7. IPS Shafqat Hussain has been appointed as SSP of Poonch
8. IPS Paramvir Singh has been appointed as SSP of Reasi
9. IPS Mushtaq Ahmed has been appointed as SSP of Handwara 

Apart from transfer of SSP ranks police officers, IPS Parvez Ahm Dar has been appointed as ditional SP Ganderbal, Vivek Shekhar Sharma has been appointed as SP North Jammu and Mohan Lal has been appointed as ditional SP Poonch, while Bhishma Qazi has been appointed as SP City East Srinagar.
