Ratlam: A major train accident averted in Mhya Presh's Ratlam after smoke emerged from wheel of a DEMU train engine between Pritam Nagar and Runija railway stations on Sunday. incident occurred in Ratlam Rail Division when driver of train spotted smoke coming out of wheel. train was immediately stopped and passengers from nearby coaches were evacuated. incident occurred while train was on its way from Indore to Ratlam.
According to reports, villrs helped extinguish fire using water from nearby fields. A major accident was averted, and re were casualties. Railway ministration officials and rail accident relief team immediately departed for incident site.

Later, a railway official said that engine of a Diesel Electrical Multiple Unit (DEMU) train caught fire on Sunday in Mhya Presh 's Ratlam district, though one was hurt in blaze.
incident occurred at 5.30 pm between Runija and Naugaon stations when train was on its way to Ratlam from Dr Ambedkar Nagar (Mhow) station, Western Railway public relations officer Khemraj Meena said.
